Studies have shown that more people are choosing to be cremated rather than traditional, in-ground burial. The Catholic church does support cremation and encourages all families to bring the cremated remains of their loved ones to a Catholic Cemetery for burial or entombment. By bringing your cremated remains to our Calvary Cemetery you provide family and friends with a place where they can visit, pray and pay their respects.
At Calvary Cemetery, we are honored to offer glass-front and marble-front niches in our mausoleum as a beautiful and lasting way to remember your loved one. These niches provide families with a peaceful place of prayer and reflection, where the memory of a loved one can be cherished for generations.
To maintain the elegant and reverent setting of our mausoleum, each niche is designed with simplicity and dignity in mind. Families may personalize the space with:- The urn containing your loved one’s cremated remains
- A nameplate
- A small picture frame
For your convenience, the nameplate and picture frame are available through our cemetery office, ensuring a timeless and harmonious appearance throughout the mausoleum.

New Crucifix Niches
This newly installed Niche wall featuring both Glass and Marble niches is conveniently located on the third floor of Unit 3.
The Glass niches are available in three widths:- 12" can accommodate one urn. This space is for one person.
- 18" can accommodate two tall or upright urns. This space is for two people.
- 24" can accommodate two rectangular urns. This space is for two people.
The Marble niches are available in two widths: 18" and 24". This space can accommodate two urns and is intended for two people.
The Marble can be inscribed to memorialize your loved one. As space on the crypt-front is limited, the inscription will only include the person's first and last name, year of birth and year of death.

Marble Cremation Niches
This beautiful wall of marble-front niches is conveniently located on the first floor of Unit 3 guarded by the grande statue of Saint Michael The Archangel.
- Only one person (cremation) per niche. Only one name will be inscribed.
- Niche dimensions are 10 3/4" x 2 3/4".
- Cremated remains must be in the plastic bag as provided by the crematory.
- Some recommended urns include certain Book Urns, Envelope Urns, or Pillow Urns. They must be smaller than the niche dimensions noted above.
- Also recommended are drawstring pouches made of velvet, or other fabric.

- Please note: The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Ad resurgendum cum Christo), prohibits the commingling, scattering, or dividing of cremated remains. Cremation must be treated with the same reverence, dignity and respect an interment would receive.
